Joonogramme

Here and now, I would like to touch closely the freedom to express myself, to exteriorize my self, the freedom to materialize my fears, my passions, my most simple desires as my most crazy ones … my interior intimate governed by infinite …

Today, this freedom becomes almost a luxury, it is to allow an unusual and pleasant act in a commercial society that tends to make us one of its products. The latter’s perversity is astonishing: it uses a very special condition to structure, influence, and direct us. This society does this so well that we end up believing that the initiative of choice comes from us. Moreover, it builds its power on an almost universal, not to say planetary,

I present this condition … so special that is “human stupidity”.

Perhaps I am utopian, but I allow myself to dream that our human essence is “this, your, our, my quest for oneself …”

In this present, here and now, a bouncing chemistry of enigmatic, organic fragments with timeless laughter is intertwined.

All mixed with voracious features of a hand guided by this bubble where we all love to lose ourselves … the imagination …

On a bed of photographic history, I am breaking an ethical and moral code, in the hope of provoking not a judgment, but the awakening of a true sensibility, of a naked sensitivity, stripped of the shakles of learned emotions and ideas.

Where are pictorial human energies … to announce the “Earth” of a newcomer …

Joonogramme…

Joon, a young Belgian artist, entrusts his photography to chance. He recovers outdated negatives and develops them with multiple processes and interventions that reveal an extraordinarily rich chromatic universe, hesitating between painting and photography.
The Joonogramme leave speechless as they exude a restrained strength and a mysterious beauty…
